Mission Viejo Has Great Homes And California Pizza Kitchen

It’s nice to have so many good restaurants near home.  I was telling one of our past clients that Mission Viejo has great homes and restaurants.  He didn’t realize that CPK was so close to his new home. Everyone should consider how close consistently good restaurants are from the home.  Because almost everyone will want to go out to dinner with out driving a long distance every so often.

I like the location of this particular restaurant.  It’s tucked on the west side of Marguerite Parkway with its own private parking lot surrounded by lush plants and trees and there is lots of shade for the cars.  We noticed right away that the restaurant was busy.  With many other people there waiting for a table we knew we were in for a bit of a wait.  Since the wait for us to be seated was going to be 20 minutes my friends wanted to go to Chipotle next door.

The Greeting and Waiting

The two host girls were very observant and quickly offered us a table out side next to a heat lamp but 50 degrees was too cold for us even with the heat lamp. We waited and after about 10 minutes we were on our way to our table. We noticed the big windows of the main dinning area that let in a lot of light and we got a prime spot overlooking the street were there is lots to look with a busy shopping center across the street with Trader Joe’s.

Our waitress appeared as soon as we sat down and immediately brought us some bread. I already knew what I wanted to drink.  The same as usual – the peach iced tea.  They infuse it with real peaches except peaches are out of season now so it wasn’t as good as I remembered last time.

Sitting Down For A Great Meal!

We scanned the menu for our pizza choices.  We immediately noticed that CPK added a few new pizzas since I last visited last but I settled for the tried and true – the Greek with avocados and he got the Jamaican Jerk sauce.  I also ordered a cup of Split Pea Soup because  I was cold from being outside.  This soup is pretty good but doesn’t quite compare to the soup at Soup Plantation; I have yet to find something that beats them.

The Greek comes with Mediterranean spiced grilled chicken and Mozzarella cheese topped with a chilled Greek salad of cucumbers, red onions, fresh tomatoes, Greek olives, Feta cheese and a lemon-herb vinaigrette and served with homemade tzatziki sauce and chopped Italian parsley.  And the Jamaican Jerk comes with grilled Jamaican Jerk spiced chicken breast with spicy sweet Caribbean sauce, Mozzarella cheese, apple wood smoked bacon, mild onions, roasted red and yellow peppers and green onions.   Yum!

The pizzas were flavorful and delicious.  During this season, CPK serves up pumpkin cheesecake and it’s only available until Christmas.

On the way out, our host was polite and opened the door for us.  Nice!
